Tick tick tick…

Only one week until the Spring Fling! ๐Ÿ™‚

I was silly and decided to pick up a short change shift. On Friday, I will work 8-4 then come in for midnight-noon. YUCK. If I hadn’t done that, they would have taken away the Friday shift, but I could use the extra hours, so I agreed to keep it. :S

Eric got new batteries for Remi’s bark collar. Ahhh, sweet silence. ^-^

I finished the crib blanket yesterday – sooooo lovely. I am also working on a pair of socks, and a quilt for my nephew Quinn. I’ve been working on it since he was born nearly a year ago, so I’d better step it up if I want it to be ready for his birthday! Maybe I will bring it to the Fling…

Well, I am sweaty from jiu jitsu class and there is a hot bath and a cold beer calling my name. Peace out.

No, I am not currently experiencing relationship problems. It was on the radio as I drove home from work and so it’s stuck in my head. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have worked waaaaay too much. Not that I’m complaining about the extra money (God only knows we could use a bit after our last tax bill!) but I will have worked 100 hours in 2 weeks by Saturday. HOLY SHIT. 60 last week and 40 this week. Not too bad for a part-time security post, but still…I need something stable and full-time. If I don’t get a full-time post for the summer, I may have to look at other options.

Somehow, though, I have found time for BJJ and for SnB night. We had a yarn swap on Friday and, as usual, I went home with more stuff than I came with. Either nobody wants my crap, or I’m hoarding all the good stuff. ๐Ÿ˜‰ However, I did score majorly by trading the skein of WM Red Hot Chili for a bunch of stuff Sarah was offering. I also purchased from Andrea-of-the-hideous-variety (who is not at all hideous, but I digress) 2 balls of Austermann Step, withย which I knitted my first pair of socks for myself.

I’m almost done the baby blanket…I figure if I knit to the end of the VERY LARGE ball of acrylic I’m using, it ought to be long enough. Right now it’s 40″ wide by 31″ long, or whatever way you wanna look at it. I just want to make sure the person I’m making it for gets her money’s worth. Next up – finish sock #2 in my Garden Path pair, work on my goddaughter’s birthday gift and my little nephew’s as well, and then start Xmas gifts! Yes, I plan on starting in June. The sooner, the better. I WILL NOT be knitting on Xmas Eve again, dammit! Three years in a row is enough. Time to break the cycle!

Hubby and the puppies are doing well. Hubby-o’-mine is working nights all weekend and I miss him terribly. Kali has adjusted much better to having Remi around, and as for Remi – well, she is much like a toddler in that everything she sees goes in her mouth lately.

That’s it for now…I must hie to bed or else I’ll turn into a pumpkin. ๐Ÿ˜‰
