I WAS on a yarn diet, til yesterday.

I can justify a little binge of 6 skeins and a lovely new shawl pin, because I have a job now and therefore can pay for my indulgence. This is what I got (sorry, don’t have any pics):

-2 skeins Malabrigo Lace (Stone Blue)

-1 skein Malabrigo Rios (Azul Profondo)

-1 skein Malabrigo Twist (Stonechat)

-1 skein Fleece Artist BFL Aran (not sure of the colorway but it’s a lovely cranberry color)

Now, since I don’t work until 6pm tonight, I am going to do some MORE indulging – this time it’ll be the first season of “The Tudors” which Eric bought for me this week, plus I’m going to work on Dalayna’s birthday present AND my Mommy Snug. :)!

Also – finished mom’s wrap at Andrea’s house yesterday. Heck yes!

I’m becoming remarkably efficient at getting what I want. I started applying for jobs two weeks ago, and finally found one – at a bingo hall! I’ve been training as a caller for the last few days, and I assume I will eventually be asked to do running and selling on the floor. It’s a really fun environment to work in, and although calling is a bit more technical than I had previously assumed, I think I’m going to like it. And it’ll be a good job to have when I go back to school. Granted, it makes it a little bit harder to work in some BJJ, but the schedule’s flexible enough that I can still train a few days a week.

…I find it a little funny that a blog that supposed to be about my knitting adventures often turns into, “Guess why Andrea can’t knit this week!” Needless to say, since I was hired on the spot and then started working the next day for 3 days straight, I haven’t done much knitting. I did get a good couple of inches on my Mommy Snug the other night, though! Eric and I went and bought the latest HP installment on Blu-Ray, which happened to be a Blu-Ray/DVD/digital copy combo thingy so we could watch it on the DVD player in our room. Anyway, while we were watching it, that’s how I got my knitting done.

I’ve been trying to get a cross-stitch done for Andre and Stefanie for their wedding. It’s really cute – in sepia tones, with a little boy and girl dressed up in wedding clothes, grinning shyly at each other. It can be customized to have the names of the bride and groom and their wedding date, but so far all I have is the little boy’s shoulder. I’d better hurry up…their wedding is in 2 months!
